Press Release :
Before the release of The Cinematic Orchestra's acclaimed third album, "Ma Fleur," Ninja Tune sneaked out a download-only version of "To Build A Home," which was met with the kind rapturous response and succession of TV-synch requests which show you've hit a nerve.
Since then, featured singer and co-writer Patrick Watson has become something of a sensation in his own right, "Ma Fleur" has become the latest critical badge of honour pinned to J Swinscoe's CV and The Cinematic Orchestra are preparing to headline their own show at the Royal Albert Hall on 2nd November.
There could hardly be a better time to revisit this utterly beautiful, sweeping and emotive miniature masterpiece.
Featured here in a compressed version for the nation's airwaves, plus the original, the package is completed by a new version from Brooklyn's Grey Reverend. A Brownstone-dwelling neighbour of Swinscoe's, the Reverend replaysn acoustic cover version, giving it a down-home flavour without losing any of the emotional uplift.
Epic, exciting and beautiful, "To Build A Home" sums up everything that is best about the Cinematic Orchestra in one small and perfectly formed package. Come inside...
