Info at Buddy Peace myspace page:

Here's the word from Controller 7, who hooked me up with the fella who was putting this compilation together :

"...There is a new compilation coming out on The Secret Life Of Sound records and it's entitled "Invisible Superstars." I helped pick about half of the artists on there and Rob who runs TSLOS picked the others. It's a vinyl only compilation that features a bunch of different sample based or electronic musicians.

I was responsible for getting the Scott Matelic, Corsic, Buddy Peace, and Controller 7 songs. Rob picked the rest, so i am not as familiar with those artists. I sequenced the record in an order which i think helps it flow pretty well. It's hard to get an eclectic mix of electronic artists to all fit together, but I think it works.

The Scott Matelic track is great. Nice 808s, piano, and dope vocals. The Buddy Peace track is excellent. It's got his mixtape style, with tons of layering, but it's a Buddy Peace solo production. The first released? The Corsic track is a nice sample based piece, reminiscent of the mowax days. The Controller 7 is the hottest song ever recorded. Just kidding.

The Tenshun song was a last minute addition, because he was in jail for 6 months for grafitti. He got out right before we decided to send off the files and asked Rob if it was too late to submit something.

Pretty eclectic, but well rounded. I think it will appeal to different people, kind of like the Deep Concentration or Audio Alchemy comps did..."

I put this together a little earlier this year, and I'll try and get a little something up on my music page there. It's a dark track, definitely something to turn that smile upside down. Just the way I like it. Thanks so much to Tommy 7, and peace and props to Scott, Corsic, Tenshun and PNS - what an honour to be up alongside them. Thank you! Gold vinyl too. Hot damn. Hella thanks to the folks at the label - I'm glad you felt the music and it found it's place.

Limited edition at 1088, black vinyl as 788 and 300 on gold vinyl
All the black vinyls (788) have official sleeve, 212 of the gold vinyl have official sleeve, another 88 gold vinyls have Tenshun art custom sleeves.

(7") Token Recluse TR-010, 2007-10-02

7" Tracklisting:
A1. Get Ready For The Young Folks
B1. I'm Ready To Shake

Hoooray, its our tenth release.... and this one does not dissapoint. Controller 7 of Sole, Sage Francis, Anticon, Bully fame recently hooked up with us for this seven inch single of original mash-ups. The A-side breathes new life in to the Peter Bjorn and John hit "Young Folks" by seamlessly melding it with the Temptation's "Get Ready." If you never heard either of the originals you wouldn't think twice about the combo. This track has already been getting regular spins from guys like Diplo and Spankrock as well as getting advanced praise from the likes of Kon (Kon and Amir), Phill the Soulman, and Dr Delay. The B-side finds the Yin Yang Twins' "Shake" paired up with the old disco classic "I'm Ready" by Kano. Both tracks gaurenteed to make somebody on the dancefloor either whistle uncontrollabley or speak in a robot voice for the rest of the night.

So yes, Controller 7 is the shit. These will go fast. And it is indeed a limited pressing of 500. Get yours today!

C7 post:
A couple months ago I finished up a side project entitled "Bozo Geeko Blends." It's just a fun little project of remixes/blends that will be available on 12 inch vinyl. If you liked the "pop" mix or the "bumps" mix then you would enjoy this record. It's not a Controller 7 release. It's more of a club record meant for people to dance to. It's for fun, the more drunk you are the more you'll probably like it. I'm not all serious. I like to have fun too. This was a fun project to do.

I produced/edited all of the songs. The name Bozo Geeko is a tribute/parody of another great label that put out some interesting blends.

Controller 7 - Left Handed Straw (Original Version)

Controller 7 - Left Handed Straw (Original Version)
Controller 7 - Left Handed Straw (Original Version)
(Ltd CD) Self released, 2000-06

Released spring 2000 and selfmade by C7 with bonus inserts. Limited Edtition as 400 copies only. 100 copies was handnumbered, this is number 72/100. Tracks are not listed, also this version only contains 35 tracks as the official release later in november 2001 contained 36 tracks.

Quoting C7 at his forum:
That version, besides only having 35 tracks, also has some different music. I changed a few things for the official release. That first one has a different song where "imagination cycle" is on the official version and the hidden song is some thing that nosdam and why made for me. There are some other small differences too. Oh yeah, the swearing from sole and jel.

There is also another version, with a different cover. I made about 400 of them by hand. The first 100 were numbered. After that they weren't numbered. Each edition of 100 had different inserts.

You basically had to live in San Francisco or order a copy from Atak in order to get one of those first 100. My friends also got 1-25 or so. Keep this in mind...I made all of those by hand. I literally did everything, including figuring out how to line up the front and back of the inserts when photocopying. I sat there for hours as they ran off copies at Copy Central. I cut every single piece of paper one edge at a time using a razor blade and a straight piece of metal. That's something like 3000 to 3200 cuts with a razor blade. Before I went to Scribble Jam I was told to bring about 80 copies. It took me 8 hours to cut out 80 covers. I didn't even fold them and insert them. Even though it's not numbered, it was made with love. Seriously, I was really excited about making those.
